Ford Focus World Rally Car Specification

The Ford Focus was one of the first of the new generation of World Rally Cars. Based on the highly popular family hatchback model, the Focus WRC takes rally car technology to new heights, with the use of new materials and state of the art engine and transmission placement. The Ford Focus WRC is probably the most technologically developed car in the World Rally Championship today, and with little change out of £350,000 per car, this is indeed serious business (click here or on the thumbnail for an enlargement). The Focus has set the mould for the new breed of rally car, being based on short hatchback members of the manufacturer's model range, with longitudinal (front wheel to front wheel) configured engines coupled to state of the art gearboxes and active differentials.

With horsepower limited to 300 bhp, teams concentrate on delivering power more effectively, with even greater concentration on suspension, differentials and tyres. See the detailed specification of the Ford Focus WRC ...
