Subaru's Petter Solberg leads the 2004 Acropolis Rally after an action packed first four stages. The Norwegian World Champion has built up a 20.3s lead over Peugeot's Marcus Gronholm with Ford's Francois Duval in third. Retirements so far (and likely restartees for the 2nd leg) include Armin Schwarz and Daniel Sola. Schwarz broke a suspension part in SS3 but was pleased with his new car up until then whilst Sola was the victim of a bizzare accident involving Ford privateer Roman Kresta. Sola had stopped in the stage with suspension problems and pulled over to let the Czech driver through, but Kresta hit the Mitsubishi from behind and ended both driver's first leg challenge. Kresta also hopes to restart tomorrow.
