Crossed the finish line with smoke in the cockpit. He thinks the problem comes from the brakes because the discs were alight.

« I was too cautious. I thought the road would be icier. »

« For once, I have stalled neither at the start nor in the hairpins. The car has improved, and the new settings have made it much better. »

« The HANS shifted from its position, and it really made things difficult for me. »

« This was a very difficult stage. »
N° 6 - SARRAZIN / PIVATO
He has had problems during this stage: he spun once and his car’s engine temperature is too high. He is driving with his eyes stuck on the dials and this is breaking his concentration, making him upset. »

He too reported problems with the HANS, which shifted on his shoulder around mid-stage. « I can´t drive with this piece of junk, and I am extremely upset. »
N° 61 - AURIOL / GIRAUDET
« This was really very tricky, with dry, icy and frosty portions. I drove too conservatively and I did not enjoy this stage. »
N° 8 - MARTIN / PARK
He complained that his tyres were not the right ones for this stage, being too soft. « The Monte Carlo is not the easiest rally to discover the 307. »
N° 3 - GARDEMEISTER / HONKANEN
« Very tricky. We chose caution. That was frightening! »
N° 5 - SOLBERG / MILLS
« We are not doing well and I don’t know why. The brake problem is apparently solved. »

He thinks the tyres he selected were too hard as it was more slippery than he thought.

He stressed how difficult the stage was. « We find ourselves easily in 6th gear on the dry, only to find an icy patch around a bend. Ouch! ». He thanked his ice-notes crew for a job well done.

« Not good at all. I spun about 4 or 5 km after the start and lost at least 20 seconds. »
