The Czech Rally Team Škoda-Kopecký's Jan Kopecký and Filip Schovánek achieved a superb result in their Škoda Fabia WRC in the Finland Rally. Jan Kopecký's composed performance during all three legs was enough to earn a point in the drivers standings of the World Rally Championship.

The Finnish Rally is famous for its horizons and traditionally it is the drivers from Finland, Norway and Sweden who dominate the event. Jan Kopecký made the first start of his career in a WRC car in Finland, and besides the wealth of experience and knowledge from the stages of the Finnish Rally he also took a highly valuable point away with him.The event in Finland draws to a close the highly demanding programme of the Czech Rally Team Škoda-Kopecký, which started with tests in France, continued with the Rally Deutschland and culminated just a weekend later with the Rally Finland. Next up on the agenda of the Czech Rally Team Škoda-Kopecký is the Turkish event in the World Rally Championship calendar in mid-October.

Jan Kopecký and Filip Schovánek won two points in the Rallye Deutschland on the back of two fantastic stage victories and two third places. The crew of the Czech Rally Team Škoda-Kopecký added one point in Finland to their two 'German' points.

'I'm happy with our times and the result. The Škoda Fabia WRC didn't suffer any technical problems in the Rally Finland its reliability was ensured by the rigorous preparations of the technicians and mechanics before and during the event. I was able to achieve the quality results in Germany and Finland only thanks to the excellent work of all team members and our advertising partners. Everyone deserves a lot of thanks for a job well done and their valuable support,' said Jan Kopecký at the end of the Finnish Rally.

'The Finnish Rally was completely different from the competition in Germany. Of course, our course rundown for the two events differed too. In Finland we even noted a lot of information during the competitive driving after the stages. We would like to put this experience to good use in our future started, as we can't expect to match the home drivers in Finland without gaining sufficient experience first,' added co-driver Filip Schovánek.

'It goes without saying that I'm satisfied with the result of the Rally Finland. Jan and Filip did a fantastic job today and approached all the stages very intelligently. Today was not about gaining two points, it was about not losing one valuable point. They handled the stages at a fast speed and did not rest on their laurels, because that's when drivers start making mistakes. The tempo was good and ensured us the result we wanted. I would like to thank all those who contributed to our success in Germany and Finland, including the crew. Special thanks belong to our partners and especially Škoda Auto, because without their support we could not have managed such a challenging programme,' said the team manager Josef Kopecký.
