Former Subaru, Ford and Peugeot works driver Markko Martin has criticised the Red Bull Skoda team, saying there is "more life and more fire in the Fabia WRC"
The popular Estonian, speaking in Autosport magazine's Wales Rally GB preview said: "The Fabia, in my opinion, is the car with the best individual parts, but those parts haven't been put together very well. The whole package is nowhere near where it should be. There are good suppliers for the transmission and the suspension and things like this."
Martin, though, concentrated his criticism on the "blue" Skoda team; "We saw at the end of last season, when Colin McRae showed in Australia that there is more life and more fire in the Fabia than has been shown this season. Francois Duval has also shown in the other team that he has managed to release the Fabia and get some good stage times. The only time the Red Bull team's speed has been okay was in Germany."
Red Bull will once again come up against Duval in his First Motorsport Skoda as well as Jan Kopecky in his Czech run car this weekend. Duval and Kopecky are expected to continue in their Fabias next season, but the future of the Red Bull team is less clear.
