Twenty five year old Markko Martin has signed to run as the third Ford World Rally Team car after a 'learning' year with Subaru. He joins the names of Colin McRae and Carlos Sainz at the blue oval after Francious Delcour signed for a desperate Mitsubishi. Markko's services have been in high demand with Subaru offering him 14 rounds, Hyundai very interested and even talk of a Citroen drive.
Martin Whitaker commented, “Markko’s signature has been highly sought after and it's hugely encouraging that he's chosen Ford ahead of other manufacturers.”
“I truly believe we have signed one of the big stars of the future.”

So, Subaru, Ford and Peugeot's line-ups are settled - it will be interesting to see how Hyundai and Citroen settle out. Mitsubishi is possibly also settled having Alister and Francious and Japanese driver Taguchi who drove for them earlier in the year.
