A group N car with character, as it provided beautiful sound and in some way beautiful looks, clean yet unique design, proper bulky dash. The Legacy started a new chapter for Subaru. The Legacy is already discussed in length in it's group A chapter. However while the group A cars were prepared and run by Prodrive, Noriyuki Koseki stayed in charge of engine preparation and everything group N. The car showed promise in its first year in Safari and Acropolis, but reliability left much room for improvement. This improvement never happened and therefore, despite its early promise, the Legacy RS stayed a rare car in group N.
