BRC is considering R-GT for 2013, in addition to the 2WD machines that will be required in 2012. BRC still thinks N4 is too expensive and would rather have R3 cup cars instead. MSA did release a Rally Review for the BRC made by an "independent" body, and they suggest that a National car spec is something that the MSA should look into.

Then again, Toyota is working on something based on the GT-86. Possibly an R-GT car. I believe it will be a cup car, so it might not be as developed as the Lotus. Cup cars are usually like that.

Been hearing that Tuthill is trying to get his Porsche 997 homologated for gravel, though he did compete in Rally Sweden, due to an issue with getting the papers done in time. But he is determined to have the 997 compete in both gravel and tarmac. Would make for some nice variety in the WRC, but I still don't see R-GT being a professional sub category of WRC.

FIA is working on a rgt cup which would comprise of select wrc and wrc events. This might be rather interesting but rgt seems to be dead as there has not really been any new homologations.

Wasn't the Porsche transferred into R-GT? Duez started in Monte and one is planning to start Finland now, this wouldn't be possible if the Porsche was N-GT only? But sadly indeed no-one else showed any interest in it yet, which I believe is down to the R-GT regs not being very good. The potential for that type of car clearly is there. Apparently Toyota was at first wanting to homologate the GT86 into R-GT but now opted for R3 instead.

R-GT cup is still in the works, and it would likely be a tarmac cup. Mostly ERC events, but 1 or 2 WRC events will work as well.

Rally GB could be an R-GT round if Tuthill gets his way.
