The only car we know for sure that is being developed in the new class. When will we see the first tests?

ChrisB, you that have connections in Peugeot Racing, could you ask some friends how far along in the development of the 208 R4T they are?

Peugeot Racing is no more, only Peugeot Rallying side of Peugeot Sport left LOL. I think, after the 207 S2000 Evo, they are now looking into a 208 R2 or R3. They have 2 208 shells to turn them into 4x4, but they haven't done much as there are still a number of details on the R4T class not settled yet, so they can't really push with development until technical confirmation. Against Peugeot tradition (see 205, 206 competition debuts), despite the road car being launched in April 2012 (to traditions that would mean a rally debut Tour de Corse 2012) at this moment it looks very unlikely we will see a 208 in competition this year. They hope right now for a January 2013 homologation, but even that might be in doubt if R4T regulation details are not sorted soon.

Peugeot promises 3,000 km rebuild intervals for the 208 R5 (S2000 was 700 to 1,500 km rebuild intervals).

208 R5 will use the 1.6 THP rather than a custom engine. I believe R5 does not allow for a custom engine, but a modified production engine that must last longer than S2000.

Too bad, but looks like the PSA R5s will be delayed until March 14, before homologation.

It's a Peugeot headline. Lefebvre flies the Peugeot colours in Zlin. Er, are the Peugeot colours purple and green now?

I guess they still don't find much positive to report about the 208 T16?

(On the Lefebvre colours, this was in fact a private start for Lefebvre, an additional starts as Barum was not on the program Peugeot promised him for this year)
