Not a bad looking car, but a bit bland. It's better looking than the previous generation car. A WRX and STi version are in development. Non USDM STi's will have a 2.0T engine, while the US version has a 2.5T engine. That's one of the reasons why I like the USDM STi more than the European/JDM version. It's a little different as it has a 2.5T engine. The WRX in America should have a 2.5T with less power, but I'm not sure about that.

Subaru is separating the WRX and STi into a separate model, that will have a unique bodyshell. This could lose some supporters, but Subaru said it's too expensive to keep building the WRX and STi on the same chassis. They also said that a side effect of doing so, is that the regular Impreza got overengineered parts so it could accommodate the more powerful engine. It seems that Subaru wants the new Impreza to be an appliance car like VW's, Hyundai's, Toyota's, and what not. This also makes the new Impreza cheaper to make and sell. It even has a CVT transmission which are usually boring. However, the new model is the most efficient AWD car in America rated at 36 US MPG. This is coming from Motortrend which is a US magazine.

USDM WRX will have a 2.0T based off the FT-86 engine. STi will likely get a 2.0T boxer with 325 HP.
