WRC First new era SS1 impressions @ 07:58 PM - First new era impression is that if new or old generation WRC, Hyundais do look better upside down! Sadly Haydon Paddon had a crash less than 1km from the end of SS1 (crew OK). So at least we have no answers on performances from the new Citroen and Toyota. We do have however a little bit of a confirmation that all new cars are fairly level in performance. Stage was completely dry. Neuville Hyundai beat Ogier Ford by a tiny margin on the stage. But more interesting on the first split Neuville was slower than Ogier. And on the same split Latvala Toyota and Meeke Citroen were slower than Ogier, but faster eventual than stage winner Neuville. So YES! We can expect a great season!
