WRC RIP Jean-Luc Thérier @ 04:47 AM - Sadly we hear Jean-Luc Thérier died yesterday. Thérier is one of the first heroes of WRC history. When the WRC started into its first season, Thérier was part of the so called Three Muscetiers of the Renault team alongside Berndard Darniche and Jean-Pierre Nicolas. Actually Jean-Claude Andruet was the first winner of a WRC event, Monte Carlo 1973 in an Alpine A110, but he was no regular in the Reanualt-Alpine team that season. There was no drivers World Championship in 1973, but Renault Alpine with their stunning A110 won the first WRC title. Thérier won 3 out of 9 WRC events, more than any of his team mates and such was the most important contributor to the first ever WRC title! R.I.P and condolences to all his friends and family!
